Senior Partner

Ann Tudor has many years’ experience as a practicing accountant with a particular specialism in medical accounts

Ann has had clients in a broad range of sectors over the years, including commercial and farming clients. However, her focus has been on the healthcare sector in recent times. She has worked with GPs and hospital consultants for over 30 years. She is a doctor’s daughter and her brother and sister are both medics, which gives her a very good understanding of how healthcare professionals work and what’s important to them.

She is a past chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Healthcare Special Interest Group, a national committee of leading accountants in the healthcare sector, supporting other accountants as a point of reference and organising training events.

She is a published author on GP accounting and tax issues having written two books on this subject. Her first book is titled ‘Doctors: An Industry Accounting and Auditing Guide’ and is a lead reference publication for accountants who wish to begin to work towards specialising in medical accounting. Her second book is titled ‘Practice Accounts Made Easy’. It is aimed at GPs and practice managers and is intended to provide an easy to read explanation on how GP finances work. This book has won a BMA Book Award.

She has frequently written articles and spoken at conferences, collaborating with organisations such as Pulse, Management in Practice, Primary Care Live and Practice Management.

Ann has been involved with several local charities over the years and is a director of the Shrewsbury Business Improvement District and Shrewsbury Summer Season Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation working on arts and heritage projects in Shrewsbury. She is currently co-chair of the Isles of Scilly Museum Association, involved in a £13m project with the Isles of Scilly Council to renovate a Council property for a cultural centre and museum.

Ann does lots of walking, dragging her dog along when he would far rather be curled up in front of a fire. Coastal walks on the Isles of Scilly and North Wales being favourite places. She recently walked the Great Glen Way whilst on holiday in Scotland. Ann dabbles in writing, her favourite genre being micro-fiction, 100-word entire stories. Ann enjoys being bossed by her grandsons who take every advantage of this.
