Ann Tudor

Ann Tudor, who heads our team, has many years’ experience practicing as an accountant in Shropshire.

She has had clients in a very broad range of sectors over the years, including commercial and farming clients. Whilst continuing to act for a range of clients she has focused on the healthcare sector in recent times. She has worked with GPs and hospital consultants for over 30 years. She is a doctor’s daughter and her brother and sister are both medics, which gives her a very good understanding of how healthcare professionals work and what’s important to them.

She is a past chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Healthcare Special Interest Group, a national committee of leading accountants in the healthcare sector, supporting other accountants as a point of reference and organising training events.

She is a published author on GP accounting and tax issues having written two books on this subject. Her first book is titled ‘Doctors: An Industry Accounting and Auditing Guide’ and is a lead reference publication for accountants who wish to begin to work towards specialising in medical accounting. Her second book is titled ‘Practice Accounts Made Easy’. It is aimed at GPs and practice managers and is intended to provide an easy to read explanation on how GP finances work. This book won an award in the 2014 BMA Book Awards.

She is frequently asked to write articles and to speak at conferences by organisations such as Pulse, Management in Practice, Primary Care Live and Practice Management.

She has been involved with several local charities over the years and is currently a trustee of the Severn Hospice and a director of the Shrewsbury Business Improvement District.

Outside of her busy professional life She does lots of walking, dragging her dog along when he would far rather be curled up in front of a fire. Coastal walks in North Wales are a big favourite. She also enjoys being bossed by her grandsons who take every advantage of this.
